Panchkula Celebrates ‘Teej and Twirls’ Amid Sawan Showers

Panchkula, August 9: Amid the refreshing showers of Sawan, the festival of Hariyali Teej, one of Haryana’s most cherished celebrations for women, was celebrated with great enthusiasm, excitement and joy on Sunday at Hotel Western Court, Sector 10, Panchkula. The grand event, organised around the theme ‘Teej and Twirls’, was led by organisers Preeti Sharma and Navita.

Women from across the city participated in the celebration dressed in traditional attire. A grand welcome accompanied by the beats of the dhol set the festive tone of the event. The women sang traditional Teej songs and enthusiastically participated in group dances.

A live musical performance and bhajan jamming session by Arun Kumar were among the special highlights of the programme. The devotional and lively performances left the women in attendance delighted and emotionally touched. Other activities, including a DJ, dance floor, entertaining games, a Teej quiz and a ramp walk, added to the festive spirit of the celebration.

All participants were presented with traditional Sindhara items along with attractive return gifts. Special gifts were also presented to the women by Kaya Glow Makeover Studio.

Organisers Preeti Sharma and Navita expressed their gratitude to all the women who attended the event and said that the celebration was not merely about Teej, but also about celebrating women’s empowerment, rich traditions and the spirit of sisterhood.
