India and China have held two days of Corps Commander-level talks in the eastern sector of the Line of Actual Control (LAC), marking the first such high-level military engagement in Arunachal Pradesh. The talks were held at the Wacha-Damai Border Personnel Meeting Point on September 6 and 7.
The discussions focused on maintaining peace and stability along the disputed border and improving communication between the two militaries. The engagement comes after recent diplomatic discussions between India’s National Security Adviser Ajit Doval and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
India’s Ministry of External Affairs described the engagement as a positive development, with both sides continuing efforts to manage border-related concerns through dialogue. However, no major new agreement or specific outcome from the talks has been announced so far.
