Jalandhar, Punjab | September 14, 2026 : As part of its efforts to promote awareness about emergency response and basic first aid, the 108 Ambulance Service organised a First Responder Programme (FRP) at Amardeep Public Senior Secondary School, Samrai, District Jalandhar. The training session aimed to equip students with basic knowledge and skills to respond effectively during medical emergencies.
More than 60 students participated in the programme and were introduced to essential first-aid practices and emergency response measures. The session focused on helping students understand how timely and appropriate action can play an important role in managing an emergency before professional medical assistance arrives.
The FRP training was conducted by FRP Trainer Jaswinder Singh, with the support of Cluster Manager Kamaldeep Singh. The programme was also attended by School Director Harinder Singh, School Health Teacher Sukhvir Singh. 108 Ambulance Pilot Narinder Singh and EMT Ramandeep Singh give live demonstrate of 108 Ambulance to students.
Speaking on the occasion, 108 Project Head Manish Batra said, “Awareness about first aid and emergency response can help individuals take the right steps during critical situations. Through programmes like FRP, we aim to create greater awareness among students and encourage them to respond responsibly and confidently in an emergency.”
The programme reflects the 108 Ambulance Service’s commitment to strengthening community awareness and preparedness beyond emergency ambulance response. By conducting FRP sessions in educational institutions, the service continues to encourage students and communities to develop basic emergency-response knowledge and contribute to safer surroundings.
