Russia launched a major overnight missile and drone attack on Ukraine on September 17, targeting Kyiv, Odesa and several other cities. Ukrainian officials said the strikes injured people and caused widespread damage across multiple regions, including damage to residential and civilian infrastructure.
In Kyiv, several districts were affected, with buildings damaged and fires reported following the strikes. Officials said at least 19 people were injured in Kyiv and surrounding areas, including children. In Odesa, seven people were reported injured, while several residential buildings were damaged or destroyed.
Ukraine’s Air Force said it intercepted or neutralised 131 Russian aerial threats, including missiles, drones and decoys. The latest attacks come as Russia and Ukraine continue exchanging strikes, while diplomatic efforts to end the war remain stalled.
