Muktsar, 7 September 2026: The 108 Ambulance Service once again demonstrated its vital role in providing timely emergency maternal care when an ambulance facilitated the safe delivery of a baby boy while transporting a pregnant woman from the Abohar Road area of Muktsar. The emergency response was supported by Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Ekamkar Singh and Pilot Harvinder Singh, who ensured timely medical assistance and safe transportation of the mother.
The patient, Parveena, 23, daughter of Akbar, was being transported, she went into labour during the journey. Recognising the emergency, EMT Ekamkar Singh immediately attended to the patient and provided the necessary medical assistance inside the ambulance. With timely intervention and professional handling of the situation, Parveena safely delivered a baby boy before reaching the healthcare facility.
The case highlights the importance of the 108 Ambulance Service in providing emergency maternal and neonatal care, particularly when pregnant women require immediate assistance while travelling to a healthcare facility. The prompt response of the trained EMT and ambulance pilot ensured that both the mother and newborn received timely care and were safely transported for further medical assessment and treatment.
