The Narendra Modi-led government is expected to press ahead with its legislative agenda during the remaining days of the session, which is scheduled to continue until 13 August. Several important bills are listed for discussion and passage, including measures related to taxation, MSME reforms, and amendments aimed at strengthening the country’s examination system following the recent paper leak controversy. The government has maintained that Parliament should continue its legislative business while remaining open to discussions on issues raised by the Opposition.
Meanwhile, Opposition parties have indicated that they will continue to demand accountability from the government before allowing normal proceedings to continue. Leaders from the INDIA bloc have insisted on discussions regarding recent student protests, alleged police excesses, and other public concerns, leading to repeated adjournments in earlier sittings of the Monsoon Session. Political observers believe that the coming days will be crucial in determining whether Parliament can overcome the deadlock and complete its legislative agenda before the session concludes.
