Ukraine has stepped up its long-range strikes inside Russia, targeting key energy and military facilities as the war enters another intense phase. Ukrainian forces recently carried out strikes on major gas facilities in the Yamal-Nenets region of Siberia, one of Russia’s most important energy-producing areas.
The attacks also targeted Russian military and energy infrastructure, including facilities around the Black Sea port of Novorossiysk. Ukrainian officials say the operations are aimed at weakening Russia’s military capabilities and disrupting the infrastructure that supports its war effort.
The escalation comes as Russia continues its own heavy drone and missile attacks across Ukraine, including strikes on Kyiv and other cities. With both sides increasingly relying on long-range attacks against critical infrastructure, the latest developments are adding to concerns over further escalation in the conflict.
