Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday held summit talks with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi in New Delhi, with discussions focused on strengthening bilateral economic ties, building resilient semiconductor supply chains and expanding cooperation in critical and emerging technologies. The meeting highlighted the growing strategic partnership between India and Japan.

Following the talks, the two sides are expected to announce a Joint Declaration on Economic Security Cooperation and a Joint Statement on collaboration in Artificial Intelligence (AI). The agreements aim to deepen cooperation in key sectors, including advanced technology, innovation and economic resilience.
External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said the summit reflects a partnership anchored in trust, shared values and strategic convergence. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing India-Japan cooperation across economic, technological and strategic domains.
