Russian airstrikes have struck Ukraine’s capital Kyiv, killing one person and injuring two others, according to city authorities. The attacks damaged a school and the Southern Bridge over the Dnipro River, while fires were also reported in an apartment building.
Following the strikes, the Southern and Paton bridges were closed to traffic, while restrictions were imposed on the Metro Bridge. The disruption affected movement across the Dnipro River as emergency teams responded to the damage.
Russia’s Defence Ministry said its forces targeted infrastructure it described as being used for military purposes. Meanwhile, Ukrainian officials reported continued Russian drone activity and said the attacks were causing significant disruption to civilian life.
